This inviting family home looks like many houses we drive by in the suburbs, but with this one, you wouldn’t simply drive by… its curb appeal would make you turn your head and take another look.
I am posting this family home because I saw many great ideas here that I feel we can accomplish at our own home, with the square footage we have.
The kitchen probably is the highlight of the entire house. It has beautiful white cabinets, white carrara marble and a huge dark-stained island. It’s a place that anyone would love to prepare their meals at!
But what I liked the most about this house is how the rooms flow to each other. This house was staged, so there is a small lack of personal touch, but I still like the neutral color pallet found here. It feels calm and relaxing and sometimes that’s all we need after a long day at work… open the doors and be welcomed to an uncluttered home.
I hope you enjoy seeing this inviting family home beautifully built by Allwood Construction.
Inviting Family Home
You notice how open and light this home is as soon you enter it. It has a good flow, good energy.
Family Room
The high ceiling and light walls make you feel good about this space. It’s open and airy.
The paint color is “Benjamin Moore 585 Athena”.
Rug is a 8×10 “Henley from Pottery Barn”.
Built-ins
I am a big fan of built-ins. Here, they create perfect symmetry, storage and a display area for your attractive pieces.
Open Concept
There a nice transition from the family room to the kitchen. I also like how seamless this kitchen looks with its white cabinets, white subway tiles and the white marble. It’s feels very uncluttered and restful.
Kitchen
Isn’t this kitchen great? I would love to cook here! There’s so much space, storage and a great layout.
White Cabinets — Dark Island
The island is big, but very practical. It’s 4′ wide and almost 10′ long.
The countertop is Carrara Marble.
Dining Room
This dining room was kept simple and clean. A rug would add more texture to the space, but it’s not always a great idea if you have small children. If having a rug is a must, choose outdoor rugs. They’re much easier to keep clean.
The floors are an engineered hickory. They are heated.. one more reason why there’s no rug here. Draperies is something that I missing, but leaving the walls bare, bring your eyes to the coffered ceiling.
Chandelier is by Visual Comfort.
Mudroom
Storage in mudrooms is a must, especially if you have kids! This would keep everything organized and in one place. A mother’s dream! 🙂
Room dimensions: 6′ x 9′.
Powder Room
The powder room feels fresh, summery and it has a classic approach with the pedestal sink and wainscoat.
Laundry Room
This laundry room is great and not too hard to replicate at home. Similar cabinets to these can be found at Home Depot, Lowe’s, etc. They add storage for your cleaning products (I hate seeing them!) and they keep everything organized.
The faucet is a “Kohler K-647 Single Handle Pullout Spray Two Hole Kitchen Faucet from the Simplice Collection”. Countertop is crema marfil marble.
Landing Area
Adding a skylight above a staircase will bring natural light to many parts of the house.
Once again, the paint color here is “Benjamin Moore 858 Athena”.
Gray Bathroom
This bathroom is masculine and it feels more contemporary. Classic basketweave mosaic floors balances the space.
Small Bathroom
I always say that you don’t have to have too much space to live well. You just need to be creative! This small bathroom is stylish and practical.
Dimensions: 5’4″ x 9′.
Master Bathroom
Great elements were added to the this bathroom. It’s neutral and it will look good for many years to come.
The beautiful under mount sinks are the “Kohler Memoirs under mount sink”.
The countertop is crema marfil. It’s a classic choice and it’s very durable.
Warm Hues
I really like the neutral and warm hues found in this bathroom.
The toilet is a a Toto CST424SFG.
Dimensions: 6’x5’8″ for the bathroom plus a 5′ x 2’10” shower.
Basement
This basement has a great layout. The big sectional makes it feel cozier and more welcoming.
Paint Color
Paint Color is “Athena by Benjamin Moore.” It’s a great color and looks amazing in any light!
Bar
The bar is functional and well-designed. It even has a dishwasher!
Home is Where the Heart is…
Great architecture! I especially like the porch’s ceiling.
Patio Decor
Make you patio feel more welcoming by adding comfortable patio furniture and don’t be afraid to add color with decorating pieces.

I like the feel of this house. It’s a place where many of us can see ourselves living, raising our kids at. It feels possible to dream about this home, and transform many of these ideas into our reality.
How are you doing today? It’s really good to be back. I have prepared this post a couple of days ago because I wasn’t sure what was going to happen at the hospital, how I would be feeling today. But I am very to be at home and feeling very good!
Thanks to God (I appreciate all of your prayers!!!), everything went well yesterday. I had my exams and I have to say that having an endoscopy is not fun. But what really matters is the fact that my doctor was happy with how everything looked. So happy that I didn’t need the procedure that was scheduled. I got out of the hospital feeling so happy and so blessed and I know this has a lot to do with your prayers and positive thoughts!
All that I have to do is to continue with a health diet. But everything is pretty great at this moment and this is just incredible! I am going through this since March, with worries and feeling scared… it’s great to put that behind and know that everything is normal now.
Seriously, I feel lighter today… and this is a good feeling.
Try to do the same for yourself. Embrace a lighter feeling today.
Take care of what’s in need of care. If it’s your health, do everything in your power to get better. If it’s your mind, your spirit… take small breaks to be alone. We often forget that rest is one of the most important things we can do for our body and for our mind.
Don’t overdo yourself. Take it easy… bring calmness and don’t feel guilty to do more for yourself. You deserve that! Loving yourself doesn’t you love others less.
So, what are going to do for yourself today ?

Being new to your blog, I was unaware you were having health issues but hearing your good news in this post is good news indeed! Our Lord is Great! Lovely looking home, colours are beautiful – the living areas look very natural and inviting and not overly pretentious. I find the bathrooms a little too masculine for my taste but overall a lovely family home.
Very glad to hear all has gone well Luciane!
A lovely home, the neutral palette is something I love.
Enjoy the rest of your week.

Luciane,
Linda postagem, lindas imagens.
um beijo imenso…

I love this house, it’s beautiful, I’d take it if it was not because I’m a bit far, but it is a house that I love.
I’m glad you’re in good health.
Kisses

I was wondering what the paint colour used was in the master bathroom. Beautiful home!
