Hello everyone! It’s so great to have you here! I’m happy to share this adorable lake cottage with all of you.
I have to say that the warmer it gets here, the happier I feel. The beach by our house is so beautiful and the Atlantic has a deep blue color that I love. And, with this beautiful weather, comes the need to get away, preferably to a private waterfront cottage, just like this one.
Located in Grand Rapids, MI., this lakeside cottage has plenty of character and style. All the rooms have a neutral, soft color pallet which is perfect for a lake cottage surrounded by water and nature.
Designed by New Urban Home Builders, and interiors by Jennifer Butler Interior Design , this cottage seems to have everything, where timeless architecture meets quiet, comfortable and casual interiors in a very harmonious way.
Lakeside Cottage
Imagine parking your car, getting your bags and enjoying the entire summer in this lake cottage.
Architecture
The stunning architecture is brought to life with paint. Notice the architect chose three very distinct colors for the exterior.
Window Box Plants
The red flowers perfectly matches the window.
Front Door
Beautiful arches and wooden front door.
Living Room
The family room offers great space for guests and views of the lake. The double doors open to the covered patio.
Chandelier is by Restoration Hardware.
Dining Room
Imagine having your meals here with that view! The decor is perfect for a lake cottage, casual but stylish at the same time.
The light fixture is a Robert Abbey Maurice Pendant.
Kitchen Design
This is a very charming and fun kitchen! I love the window and I find the tiles very refreshing. The butcher block counters are also very appealing.
Kitchen and Family Room
A fireplace divides the kitchen from the family room.
The pendants are by Hudson Valley and the floors are engineered walnut.
Eating Nook
There’s something very special about eating nooks. I love this banquet, the table and the mirror. Light fixture is by Hudson Valley.
Bedroom
This master bedroom has a very neutral color scheme and it feels very relaxing.
Lake Views
The views becoming the focal point with the neutral color palette used here.
Bathroom
Beautifully designed! The built-in by the window offers extra storage.
The cabinets are by Tru-Kitchens in Grand Rapids, MI.
Outdoor
This patio is very inviting with that fireplace. The fan is very unique and brings a contemporary touch, contrasting with the rest of the decor.

How are you doing today? I hope you’re having a great day.
Everything is fine here, but I’m a little worried because I’m seeing my doctor tomorrow and I’ll probably found out if we’re scheduling a surgery. I was talking to my mother today and she said she’s praying for me every single day. I could see how much she cares and how worried she is.
It doesn’t matter how old your child is, it seems that, if you’re a mother, you’ll always worry. Isn’t that true?
I tried to calm her down because this won’t be a very serious surgery anyways. But I have to admit that I really don’t want to go through this. I love being able to take care of everything and everyone. I’m not the kind of person that likes to depend on people to help me… I rather help them.
Well, we’ll see what happens. I’ll let you know when I find out, ok? đŸ™‚
