Even though it is still technically summer it feels like winter time is fast approaching and has no chance of slowing down. It can be sad to say goodbye to the sun, al fresco dining and not having to wear a coat, but there are things to look forward to when the dark nights and chillier atmosphere draws in. It is the perfect time to get your home ready for winter as you will no doubt spend more evenings indoors with a mug of hot chocolate!
With a layer of dust sitting over some of your kitchen appliances through lack of use, it is time to give your home a boost as summer fizzles out. The main two rooms used by yourself, family and your friends who come round, are the living room and kitchen so these should definitely be first on your to do list.
Kitchen Design
The kitchen generally takes longer if you decide to add new appliances such as a fridge or the oven, however if you are just changing the appearance of kitchen units and adding in some new items of furniture it will be a much quicker job. Adding a breakfast bar to your kitchen is a fantastic addition for the winter and you can find quality bar stools to place along it. It creates the perfect place to enjoy meals at and if you are cooking a dinner your kids or friends can sit and relax whilst keeping you company.
Adding Comfort
The living room should be updated with lots more cozy cushions and ensure that your fireplace is working to keep the chill off. Also, make sure you invest in a big, fluffy rug to keep your feet warmer.
These simple changes will make a big difference to you especially if snow falls later in the year. Staying in for a cozy night will seem much more appealing than having to brave the outdoors, plus you will be proud to show off your home for get-togethers during the upcoming festive season!
