Asked to renovate a New Canaan, Connecticut home, the talented architects of Brooks and Falotico Associates, Inc. designed a stunning Belgian style farmhouse. They envisioned this project as a modern take on Belgian style farmhouses.
The Belgian stone exterior — featuring board and batten siding, slate roof in gray tones and gravel driveway — gives this home a new contemporary look. The color theme of neutrals and grays is carried into the interior which also gives this home a relaxing and peaceful feel to it.

Home Exterior
Stone: The stone is Byram black fieldstone from Connecticut Stone.
This Belgian farmhouse also feature windows and doors made from Case Window XS steel thermally broken system. Custom beveled muntins and glass stops were added to make the divided lites appear lighter and thinner. Trapezoids and arched top shapes throughout the project add flair.
Kitchen
I love the “Industrial meets Farmhouse” feel of this kitchen. Isn’t this fresh?
Countertops are Belgian Bluestone.
The backsplash tile is Terra Cuite, Black Metal, 4 x 8 from Paris Ceramics.
The hood was custom made by Focal Metals. It is stainless steel with a pewter finish in both brushed and matte.
The linear hand-forged iron light fixture is by Gregorius/Pineo and is the Vassaro Chandelier.
Wet Bar
A wet bar cabinet is located in an arched nook just off the kitchen. Notice the foyer in the left.
Kitchen Paint Color
The trim and cabinets are painted in Farrow and Ball Shaded White.
Pass-Through
The kitchen features a pass-through black casement window leading to the patio.
Stones
This inviting patio features a large outdoor stone fireplace and bluestone floor tiles.
Master Bedroom Paint Color
The walls are “Benjamin Moore Gray Cloud”.
Ceiling Paint Color
The plank ceiling are also painted in “Benjamin Moore Gray Cloud” but cut 50%.
Bathroom Details
The vanity and wall paint color is Benjamin Moore Super White.
Countertop is Bardiglio Marble and floor is Castle Grande Padena in Pietra Blue by Greenwich Tile in Greenwich, CT.
