If you’re getting tired of seeing kitchen trends change often and are afraid of ending up with an outdated kitchen only a few years after a complete reno, you should stick with your guts and opt for a classic choice, such as this country kitchen design.
Forget anything you have heard or seen related to country kitchens from the past. New country kitchens are more attractive than ever! Take this kitchen for example. Designed by Martha O’Hara Interiors. this is the kind of kitchen that you can imagine cooking in while the kids do their homework at the unique T-shaped island. A well-designed kitchen for me has to be perfect for family living and entertaining!
This country kitchen truly has everything homeowners are looking for in a kitchen nowadays, such as white marble, white cabinets and a big island, but this certainly is not a kitchen that fits into the “empty trend” category. This is a kitchen design that will stand the test of time, thanks to its classic characteristics and traditional decor.
Modern Country Kitchen Design
It’s easy to see why country kitchens are so popular. They usually feel homey and inviting.
Countertop is carrara marble.
Kitchen Dimension: The kitchen is approximately 16’W X 20′.
Cabinet Paint Color
The paint color on the cabinetry is an enameled finish in “White Dove OC-17 by Benjamin Moore” – a very popular and my favorite choice for white kitchen cabinets.
Coffee Station
Beadboard Paint Color: “Hirshfields 748 Balance“.
This furniture-like cabinet is perfect for a coffee-station with its own prep-sink. Also, notice the beautiful, long custom-made corbels.
Restoration Hardware carries similar hardware.
Faucet is by ROHL.
Kitchen Island
I love the contrast of this T-shaped, dark-stained kitchen island with the white cabinets.
The designer custom-mixed the island color, but a close match would be “Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black SW 6258”.
Floors: This flooring is a custom oak flooring, the stain was applied and perfected on the jobsite.
Pendants are “Elise 1 by Elk Lighting”.

Sunroom
This shabby chic sun room, uses neutral tones, a variety of textures, numerous finishes and a mix-match of furnishings to complete a totally cohesive look. The decorative pillows and distressed green chairs add color to the space, while the light half-window treatments keep the sun room feeling airy.
Loveseat is a “Wesley Hall settee” and rug is from “Dash & Albert”.
Quatrefoil stools are the “St. Tropez Pampelonne Ottoman by Lexington Furniture”.

How are you guys doing today? We’re finally having a beautiful, sunny day here and I will be outside, painting my front door. I chose to paint it in a dark navy color (Benjamin Moore HC-155 Newburyport Blue) because we’re by the water, and the navy brings that classic coastal feel that I love and it will go perfectly with the exterior color of our home.
Wish me good luck and energy… have I mentioned I’m dealing with a terrible cold? I just hope to not sneeze while holding a brush. 🙂
