We can’t argue that a white kitchen is a classic choice but, if well-designed, almost any cabinet color can become timeless, as long you choose elements that complement each other. Featuring navy blue cabinets and white subway tile, this navy blue kitchen is an outstanding alternative to classic kitchen design.
Here, the cabinet designer and kitchen planner, Chris Jacob of Jacob Design Co., shares more details about this inspiring project:
“This was a new construction home with an open concept living room, dining, and kitchen. I completely changed around the location of the kitchen and pantry from the original blueprints to create a pantry that was large enough to do prep work, gave plenty of storage, and also gave enough counter space to leave finished dishes tucked away during a party so that the kitchen island could stay clear while entertaining.
In regards to the main kitchen, I wanted it to feel symmetrical on either side of the window. I made the upper cabinet that comes to the counter is the same width as the refrigerator, and the double stacked cabinets above each side are equal.”
Kitchen Cabinet Details: The kitchen features custom-made doors with custom navy blue paint and Walnut wood interiors.
This chef’s-inspired kitchen features high-end appliances and plenty of workspace.

The island quartzite was built up to 2.5″ thick and the cart next to the island was made with a 2.5″ thick walnut butcher block top, so that when they are together, they appeared seamless.”
