The year started and you’re finally ready to start remodeling your kitchen. Now, if only you could find all the right remodeling ideas for your kitchen…
When remodeling kitchens, I feel that it’s very important for the homeowner to think very carefully about the options you have. Contracting a good interior designer surely will make this job much easier for you, but if you are not able to do that, you will need to sit down and think through every detail about your current kitchen and how to transform the space you have into your dream kitchen.
Whenever I work on a kitchen project I take into consideration who lives in the house, how often they cook and what the homeowner’s priorities are. I not only incorporate materials that are beautiful to the eyes, but ones that are also classic. If there’s one place in your house that I strongly recommend you to keep it neutral and classic, it’s the kitchen. You can always add color and interest with fabric, furniture and decor. Neutral elements will always prolong the aesthetics of your kitchen, making you save money down the road.
Another very important factor when remodeling a kitchen is to look for new ideas that can make your life easier. Look for fresh ideas when the time comes to remodel your space. Think about new elements like touchless faucets, new kitchen cabinet storage ideas, durable countertop material and new backsplash designs.
Take this complex kitchen remodel as an example. The remodel included demolition of the butler’s pantry and incorporating the space into the kitchen; reframing a load-bearing wall, new windows and doors, new wood floors, and lots of electric and plumbing work.
This kitchen undoubtedly has a very classic look, but if you look closely you will see some great ideas that you might want to add to your next kitchen remodel.
New Remodeling Kitchen Ideas
Countertop is a very important decision when remodeling a kitchen. You have many options out there, from the affordable butcher block (think Ikea), medium priced countertop such as quartz and more expansive ones such as quartzite, porcelain slab (a new product that is becoming very popular and looks just like marble) and the timeless choices; marble and granite.
With all the great options for countertop the market offer these days, do a good research on the products you like and find out which one fits your life and your budget better.
The countertop in this kitchen is Calcutta Regina Marble.
Cabinetry is Crestwood inset with a bead in Iceberg white.
Range Backsplash Ideas
This “Oceanside” iridescent tile in a herringbone pattern sets off the marble nicely.
Pot Filler Faucet
If you have the opportunity, consider installing a pot filler faucet above your stove. They’re practical as they are beautiful. Pot filler faucet also reduces strain on your body and it will save time when cooking.
Baked Goods
A mixer lift was installed in the “baking” area – note: the roll-out tray at the bottom which holds accessories (e.g., whip, chute, hook) and a hand-held mixer. There is also an electric outlet inside of the cabinet, so the mixer can be used directly on the lift.
Kitchen Lighting
Light fixtures are the Six Light Square Tube Chandelier from Circa Lighting.
I love the clean look of this kitchen with all white cabinets and natural wood floors. It feels airy.
Drawer Dishwasher
These fisher & paykel dishwasher drawers are installed left of the apron sink. Note how toe kick is applied.
Paneled Dishwasher
If you must have two dishwashers I recommend following this idea — a full and a drawer dishwasher. You fill the full dishwasher first and one or two drawers with if you have extra dishes. This can save energy and water.
This Bosch dishwasher is on right side of apron sink.
Kitchen Hardware Finish
Hardware, plumbing fixtures, and light fixtures are polished nickel — a favorite of mine.
Spice Storage
Great spice tilted spice storage, insert is the wood from rev-a-shelf.
Appliance Garage
Even if you are not remodeling your kitchen right now, try to declutter your countertop as much as possible. This will make your kitchen appear larger and give you more workspace.
This practical appliance garage is tucked into the corner of the kitchen.
Kitchen Bar
This hidden dry bar is right off the kitchen. It includes a wine refrigerator and beverage refrigerator. The Oceanside herringbone glass mosaic is repeated here to match picture frame insert at range.

How are you doing today? It’s cold in here and I wish I could stay in bed, watching a good movie. But life keeps on going and I have to do the same! 🙂
Oh, remember I told you guys I was having a hard time resisting coffee yesterday? I felt extra cranky but I did it! I kept focusing on the fact that I am feeling better and having less stomach pain. Getting better is my priority right now.
Keep focusing on the positive and remember to do all you can to take care of yourself. This body we carry is a gift and our health is a gift that we should constantly treasure.
Have a peaceful & Blessed day!

I love this kitchen. Classic and timeless. I would definitely do a dishwasher drawer if I ever remodel my kitchen. I’ve had my kitchen aid dishwasher have many repair issues. It wasn’t cheap either. I love all the ideas you give us Luciane! Thanks.
Hello Carol.
I am so happy you liked this kitchen. Thank you for your kind words!
I had a “Kitchen Aid” dishwasher and had SO MANY issues with mine as well. The same thing happened with my fridge and range of the same brand. I would never recommend them to a client. Kitchen aid appliances are pricey but lack on quality.
Have a great day! 🙂
