I feel that a home should, before anything, be well-built and well-designed and this Texas new-construction home for sale by Hub City Custom Homes is one of them.
Home Design Goals: “The goal with this home was to create an urban living space. We wanted to create something that was more modern but still comfortable and warm. Open concept with lots of natural light. The top transom windows let light flood all of the main spaces.” – Hub City Custom Homes.

Architecture Style: “Exterior is a modern farmhouse, and the interior is just a warm modern style. The exterior features oversized lap siding with painted brick and lots of front entry gable detailing. The inside features clean lines with warm wood detailing and delicate marble accents.” – Hub City Custom Homes.
Home Details: 6 bed, 5.5 bath, 4,750 sqft, 0.32 acre lot.
Location: Lubbock, Texas.
You’ll find designer finishes throughout this gorgeous home, including hardwood floors, White Oak slat accent walls and a dramatic staircase accented with marble mosaic tile.

Wood Slat Wall: The slat wall is made of White Oak slats that were attached to a backer board. The backer board was applied to the wall first. The backer board has straight lines routed out and was painted Sherwin Williams Tricorn black. The white oak slats were then nailed into the routed out grooves to ensure that they were all straight. The white oak was sealed with a clear coat and left to be its natural color.

Someone asked me on Instagram a few days ago about how people tend to use these large pantries. I think this type of space is often used as a secondary kitchen, which is perfect to prepare your coffee in the morning or baking, while keeping the main kitchen clean or without extra clutter. In fact, this is where I would keep all of my small appliances . 🙂

The Great Room is truly breathtaking! A White Oak slat fireplace adds warmth and interest to this large space.
The slat fireplace is made of White Oak slats that were attached to a backer board. The backer board was painted Sherwin Williams Tricorn black. The white oak slats were then nailed into the routed out grooves to ensure that they were all straight.
