This traditionally inspired, shingle style, beach front cottage is sited behind protective dunes and has expansive views of the ocean. The cottage serves as a multi-generational retreat and was designed to provide outdoor living space with ocean views on every level. The second floor was reserved as the primary living space with an open floor plan that provides easy circulation and expansive views toward the horizon from every room. The design of the house and the materials used in its construction were carefully developed in order to combine historical authenticity and simultaneously accommodate the longevity of modern materials in the harsh ocean front environment.
Architecture by Peter Zimmerman Architects and interiors by Morrison Fairfax Interiors, this cottage has the perfect combination of comfortable interiors with a tailored casual flair. I hope you like it!
Shingle Beach Cottage with Coastal Interiors
Charming, this beach cottage enchants with its traditional architectural details.

You can’t go wrong with shingles! Lovely facade and roofing.

What a great foyer! Lovely coastal prints bring some color to the creamy white walls, while jute rugs add texture to the space.

The architect added a bench in this small space between the front door and staircase. Cozy and smart!
Living Room
This is why we love coastal interiors! They’re usually happy, comfy and causal! I am loving the blue and white decor found in this living room. What a great color palette for a beach cottage!

Beach House Architecture
Timeless beauty!
I hope you had a good time seeing this beautiful place. I have to say that I can never get tired of well-designed coastal interiors!
My kids are going back to school today and my heart is a bit sad… 🙂
I will go to my favorite cafe and do some errands around town with my 2 y/o. Maybe we should buy something for the kids for when they come back home… that would be a nice surprise for them, right?!
Big hugs to you all, my friends! We’ll talk again tomorrow!

Hello there! I just love your blog! I was wondering if you know what the fabric selections are in the family room/kitchen…all the light blue/aqua print patterns? I’ve searched high and low, and can’t figure out the manufacturer. Thank you!
Hello Jen,
I don’t have the information of all the fabrics, but feel free to contact the designer directly. She should be able to help you with that: Morrison Fairfax Interiors: http://www.morrisonfairfaxinteriors.com/#a=0&at=0&mi=1&pt=0&pi=1&s=0&p=-1
