Some days you wake up and just wish you were living in a house that feels a little more like you. You look around and you feel that your home is lacking personality. In fact, it feels as if it’s lacking your personality.
It’s not that you don’t know what you like. The truth is that you like so many things, so many interior styles, so many interesting ideas and many times, all the latest trends. You keep buying new things for your house and you love them when you first see them, but soon after you loose interest. Often, you feel like it looked much better in the store than within your space. Why does this keep happening, you might ask. The answer is quite simple: your home is lacking balance, cohesion, flow.
It’s not hard for us to see beautiful homes with many great ideas but with an unfinished feel to them. Unfortunately, putting a home “together” is not as easy as it seems. You have to envision the space and if you allow me to share some advice, you need to bring home things that you love, not because they’re trendy, but because they “speak” to you.
Bringing personality and flow to the interiors was done in a easy and very casual way in this beach house located in Beaufort, South Carolina. Designed by Reu Architects, this home has a way of inviting you over and making you feel comfortable. Nothing is outrageous, everything is simple and pretty, including the water views.
Let’s start this week by seeing this comfortable and comforting beach house design. I am sure you will feel a little more relaxed and inspired to bring your beautiful personality into your home.

lOVE IT! You had me at the front door and all that moss hanging. So beautifully done, not too big, not too small…just right! Hope you are having a great day so far.
Love the kitchen backsplash – do you know the name or where it was purchased?
Hello Mary.
The backsplash are by Ann Sacks. You can contact them and they should be able to give you more details/pricing.
Thank you.

Wow. There are SO many beautiful design items in this house, I can’t decide which I like most, but the floors really stood out to me. Reclaimed wood from Mondavi barrels? Amazing. And the herringbone tile in the master bathroom is heavenly. I really like how they painted all the ceilings too! I’m feeling inspired to paint my own ceilings now. 🙂
What a beautiful home – in every way – I would like to move in.
And yes, a home should not be trendy, l love seeing a home with shows the personality of his owner.
Have a good week!
This house is amazing! Where are the wooden bathroom mirrors from?!?
Hello! What is the name of the backsplash in the 5th picture down titled “Kitchen Cabinet Paint Color Ideas?” Is it by Ann Sacks, too?
Thank you-love the ideas in this home!
Love your positivity, too, in the last paragraph. 🙂
