What’s your style when it comes to interior design? As an interior designer, I like to see a little of everything, from classic, traditional interiors to transitional. There’s always something inspiring that grabs your attention and, many times, teaches you about something entirely new.
Take this traditional home for example. Located in Minneapolis and completely renovated by Yunker Associates Architecture, this home feels classic and elegant with interior details, such as the custom white kitchen that certainly will stand the test of time.
I love everything about this home, from the decor to its architecture. Take one look and let me know if you feel the same way!

Dining Area
This dining area feels casual yet elegant. I am loving the white chairs contrasting against the dark stained table. Also, notice the built-ins and sconces.
Paint Color
The cabinet and wall paint color in this kitchen were custom made, but a similar gray paint color is “Benjamin Moore Storm”. This is deep gray that feels warm and looks beautiful against crisp white cabinets and trim.
Dutch door was also custom made for this home.
Butler’s Pantry
This is an extraordinary butler’s pantry design, with Calacatta marble countertop, white glass-front cabinets and lantern pendant lighting.

Wood
The wood in this room is alder and the stain was a custom mix.
Hardwood flooring is white oak.
Office
Located just off the kitchen, this home office if perfect for the homeowner to keep everything organized.
The cabinet grille were custom made.
Mudroom
Having a well-designed mudroom is always a smart investment. Look for easy storage solutions and if you can afford, invest on custom built-ins. These are more expensive, but will be designed specifically for the space you have.
Another very important factor when designing a mudroom is the flooring. Only choose durable, hard-wearing floors such as tiles, some natural stone, brick and if you want to add a warm feel to this space, consider cork flooring or high quality vinyl.
The flooring in this mudroom is slate.
Powder Room
Lovely, large powder room with double vanity and honeycomb marble flooring.
Similar Paint Color: “Benjamin Moore Wythe Blue HC-143”
Master Bathroom
This bathroom feels classic with its basketweave marble floors and cream white cabinets.
Lighting
Lighting is the “Bling by Robert Abbey”.
Cozy
This feels cozy and intimate. I love the idea of using glass shelving instead of wood. It creates a cleaner look.

How are you feeling today? I hope everything is great with you!
I have being very busy lately, working on the blog, taking care of my family, house (you probably know how that goes) and I am also working on several projects for a wonderful client. also from Canada. She wants to renovate her entire home and I will be there to help her. It’s being fun and like she said, after everything is done, she’ll have to come up with “make believe projects” just to keep me around. Isn’t that nice to hear? 🙂
I am hoping to share some of these projects with your after we complete them. 🙂
I hope you have a wonderful day and be safe out there, ok?
We’ll talk again tomorrow!

What beautiful millwork! And one thing I noticed is that the door styles and cabinet doors varied in the different rooms, which adds interest and proves that the entire house does not need to be “matchy-matchy”.
I would have to say, the butler’s pantry! What a luxury, lots of beautiful space for beautiful dishes!
I like the contrast of the living room to the rest of the house but wonder why there is only seating for about 6 people, when the kitchen table can seat 8 with 4 more at the island. Seems a bit undersized compared to the rest of the house, although it might be just for show with a family room tucked away someplace. And I wonder if the kitchen is so big that it might be hard to cook in with a huge island in the way. I would like a bit more art and personality, but it is lovingly detailed.
