Neatly perched on Mead Point, this Late Shingle Style home offers impressive views of the Long Island Sound. The stone base, painted blue shingle upper story and hipped natural shingle roof create a distinctive composition reminiscent of an architectural precedent nearly one hundred years old.
Exquisitely designed by Douglas VanderHorn and built by Significant Homes LLC, it’s evident that special attention was paid to the custom designed interiors that continue the waterfront shingle aesthetic. Generously sized rooms afford water views and are rich in character, from the classic white kitchen to the wood beamed ceiling of the family room. The living and dining rooms feature subtly elegant paneling and decorative plaster mouldings with classic blue and white decor.
This use of forms, textures and material create a quintessential form that will make this traditional shingle home fresh for generations.

What a fantastic home! I hope you enjoyed seeing it as much as I enjoyed preparing this post.
Today I am going to do some errands around town. My day is going to be busy-busy! In fact, I am being so busy with the kids and my business lately that I am seriously thinking about hiring someone to help me around the house. I love taking care of everything and I feel blessed for being able to work mostly from home, so I can be with the kids, but I am honestly feeling overwhelmed with everything else in my life right now, including our little puppy. I love, love him so much, but I am not liking how much he keeps shedding around the house. Honestly, that is something that drives me quite nuts! LOL . On top of that, lately I look at my house and I see tons of things for me to do… things I simply can’t find the time and energy to be done. Then, you know… guilt starts to “speak” to you. Having someone to help me at least once a week should make my life a little lighter…
Wishing you all a fun, full of laughter and health day! 🙂
We’ll talk some more tomorrow!

A beautiful house. I love the lighting fixture in the foyer, and I haven’t thought of café curtains as cute in years, but the ones in the bathroom really are.
I believe puppy dogs have so much love to give that it just overflows and every little hair on the floor, sofa, rug, clothes, car seat, everywhere (!) is a piece of love that fall off of them.
I have marveled at how you manage to raise three children, run a home and business, and post such wonderful pictures for us to drool over everyday. You do deserve some help!
Have a wonderful day.
Do you know who the interior designer was on this?

Any idea who makes the sconces in the master bath between the mirrors?
