Located in Naples, Florida, and designed by MHK Architecture & Planning, this vacation cottage features relaxed coastal interiors.
The entire cottage carries crisp white walls, contrasting with dark stained wide plank flooring. Colorful coastal decor adds a splash of color and that summery feel that anyone can appreciate in a vacation cottage in sunny Florida.
Let’s start dreaming about summer with this beautiful place. Who knows, this might even inspire you to pack and spend your summer on a sandy beach in the south!
Vacation Cottage with Coastal Interiors
With an open layout and colorful decor, the main floor seems to be a great place to gather and relax at any time of the day.
Door Ideas: The living room door is wood vinyl clad, Anderson 400 series door with a wooden shutter on it.
Floors are weathered oak wide plank flooring.
Kitchen
Any kitchen can look beautiful regardless of its square footage. Small kitchens can have as much personality as a big kitchen.
Here, the designer used Carrara Marble and Walnut on the counter tops and they look stunning together. Notice the plank walls used as backsplah and the mini-tiles behind the range. Great kitchen combo!
Eating Area
This adorable informal eating area features an antique sign used as wall decor, a classic lantern and coastal rattan chairs.
Master Bedroom Decor
This is an eclectic approach to coastal decor. I am loving the bedding and that gorgeous lamp!

Didn’t you get in a vacation mood after seeing this coastal cottage? I sure did!
Talking about coastal interiors, I received a special gift a while ago from Fiber and Water. Fiber and Water, based out of South Portland, Maine, creates screen printed burlap wall art and toss pillows for the home, inspired by life, travel, and cuisine. They sent me a gorgeous set of prints that I will be adding to my living room:
The Nautical 3: Lighthouse, Anchor, Schooner art.
Aren’t they beautiful? Trust me, they look even better in person! I will share some pictures of my own living room soon.
Fiber and Water Pillows
Fiber and Water also offers beautiful burlap pillows. They’re all hand-made in Maine.
Frames
Gorgeous wall art handcrafted on burlap.
I love many of their art and I have suggested some to my clients.
Coastal Wall Art
Coastal art looks even better on natural burlap!
Burlap Totes Bags
I am crazy about tote bags and I use them all the time during summer. This one will have to be added to my collection. Love it!
Can you tell I am getting really excited for summer? Summer is definitely my favorite time of the year! I love the warm weather, the beach and being to take some time off to unwind anywhere I want.
Talking about that, do you know what you will be doing this summer yet? We’re starting to make some plans and it should be fun. I really want to take it easy and enjoy every minute with my family.
I hope you’re having a great day so far and we will talk some more tomorrow. Deal? 🙂

This is adorable. It looks like an old vernacular cottage that’s been renovated and added onto – love that!
