I have to be honest with you, the kitchen is my favorite room in a house. No, I am not a chef and I do not cook as much as I wish I had the time to, but the kitchen, regardless of its look, is always the heart of a home.
When I saw this kitchen, designed by Heydt Designs and with collaboration of Benjamin Dhong Interiors, I immediately knew I had to share it with you.
Featuring inset shaker cabinets painted in Benjamin Moore’s color of the year, Benjamin Moore Simply White OC-117, this white kitchen has many inspiring design ideas. Starting with a practical layout and its timeless materials such as honed Carrara marble counters and beveled white subways tiles as backsplash, you will see that nothing was overlooked here.

White Kitchen Design Ideas
Isn’t this a beautiful kitchen? I love white kitchens with dark stained floors. What a gorgeous contrast!
Kitchen Paint Color
The cabinet paint color is Benjamin Moore’s Simply White OC-117. The designer used the same “color” on the walls, moldings, windows, and cabinets- all in a satin sheen because many of the walls in the house are wood planks.
Range is a Wolf 48″ Gas Range.
Countertop & Backsplash
The countertop is a classic choice: 1 1/2″ thick honed Carrara Marble.
Backsplash is Adex USA 3″ x 6″ Beveled White Tile.
Kitchen Sink, Faucet & Hardware
Kitchen sink is Rohl RC3618BS Shaws Original Single Bowl Fireclay Apron Front Kitchen Sink, 36″. Kitchen faucet is Perrin and Rowe U4718/U4719 Kitchen Bridge Faucet.
Kitchen Hardware: Knobs are Ashley Norton 117 Round Knob in dark bronze patina.
Fridge Pulls are Ashley Norton Cabinetry Hardware, solid hand forged bronze in dark bronze patina in 17″ length.
Kitchen Lighting
The pendants over the island are the Ralph Lauren Fulton Medium Pendant in polished nickel with white ceramic. The light over the sink is the Clark Ceiling Light by Thomas O’Brien from Circa Lighting, also in polished nickel.
Living Room
The kitchen opens to a bright living room decorated in a mix of blue and white and pale grays.
The pillows were from Anthropologie.
Rug
The herringbone rug is from Serena and Lily. It’s the Metallic Suede and Hemp Rug.
Flooring
The flooring is French Connection by Garrison in ‘Caffe’ Color. Rustic European White Oak 5/8″ x 7″ Planks.
Fireplace
The fireplace stone is Green Mountain Soapstone. The designer intentionally left it “unfinished.” If you oil soapstone, as the stone suppliers recommend, it turns black and the homeowner liked the softer unaltered tone. If the stone were on kitchen counters, it would have to be oiled, but here the unfinished surface works well!
Fireplace is Town and Country Fireplace TC36 See-Thru.
Dining Room
This dining room is full of character! The turquoise vases are Anthropology blown glasses vases.
Dining chairs are Madeleine Side Chair from Restoration Hardware.
The cow print was purchased at the Alameda Point Antiques Faire by the homeowner.
Kitchen Desk
I love this very practical desk! The desk portion is 5′-7″ wide. The file cabinets on either side of that are each 2′-2″ wide.
This kitchen desk also features a custom roll-away printer shelf (see left).
Paint Color is Benjamin Moore OC-117 Simply White.
